Before starting work, the surface of the substrate must be perfectly clean, sturdy, and level. Any cracks or flaking of the old plaster will become a “time bomb” beneath the new layer of stone.

  4. Pot life of the mortar: When working outdoors during the warmer months, it is important to allow enough time to adjust the tiles.
  5. Application method: We recommend the double-application method (applied to both the tile and the substrate) to prevent air pockets.

Ensuring there are no gaps under the tiles is key to success. If water gets into a cavity and freezes, it will simply pull the tiles away from the wall.
